Our Christian faith is the mystery and reality of God's Love revealed to us through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Rooted in the boundless grace of God, it proclaims that every person is created in the divine image, beloved and worthy of dignity. In Christ, humanity encounters God’s self-giving love made flesh – a love that breaks barriers, heals wounds, and invites all into communion.
The Eucharist is our central act of worship. It is the feast of gratitude and grace, where bread is broken and wine is shared, remembering Christ’s sacrifice and celebrating his presence among us through the power of the Holy Spirit. At Christ's table, all are welcomed without condition. Here, our community is renewed in love, nourished for service, and sent out to be his hands and feet in the world.
To be Christian is to follow the way of Jesus: to love God with all one’s being and to love one’s neighbour as oneself. It is to seek God’s kingdom of justice and mercy, to stand with the oppressed, to care for the earth, and to live with hope in the promise that Love is stronger than death. The Christian faith, in all its forms and expressions, is a continual “yes” to the transforming power of God's grace – a call to live, serve, and share in the reconciling work of God for all creation. All are welcome here!
PRAYER
The life of the church is sustained by prayer. Please pray our prayer for Lavant:
Heavenly Father,
We give thanks for calling us to serve and worship you in the Parish of Lavant.
We ask your blessing upon our ministry, mission and outreach into the community we serve in your Name.
May we grow in our love for you and of our neighbour, that we may be beacons of light and hope to our community and beyond.
We ask through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord
who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit
One God now and forever
Amen
