Join us in ‘God’s acre’ as we pray the
Spirit’s blessing on the launch of the
Diocesan Vision Strategy

...gather @ the Beacon at 8.45pm....
silent prayer vigil begins with the
lighting of the Beacon @ 9.00pm
At the kind invitation of the West Wittering Estate, the Deanery of Chichester will be holding a Prayer Vigil for the launch of the Diocesan Vision Strategy at the ‘Beacon’ on West Wittering beach.
It will be an occasion at which we hope the beauty of holiness - in this area of outstanding natural beauty - will be our prayerful inspiration as we ask the Holy Spirit to dwell richly within the life of our churches and across the Diocese, encouraging us to know, love and follow Jesus and to make His love known.
All are welcome to share in this uniquely contemplative time of prayer. The Vigil will begin as we gather around the Beacon at 8.45pm. The Beacon will be lit at 9am, shortly after sunset. The prayer Vigil will be held in silence and begin once the Beacon is lit and last for half an hour.
You are welcome to bring your own warming refreshment and will need to bring a blanket or camping chair to sit on.
You may arrive early for a picnic and refreshments however if you arrive too early you may have to pay at the gate. We ask that all picnics etc are finished by 8.45pm Toilet facilities are available at various locations less than 5 minutes' walk away.
Free parking will be made available in the area of the Beacon at the far west end of the estate car park. Permits for the event are available from the Rector – and please do let him know if you're planning to attend so that he can advise how many are coming from our parish. The event will allow access for all.
We hope that the simplicity of this event will enable us to give prayerful focus to our Vigil and ensure that we may be one as we worship in spirit and in truth.
